WEEK 12: A Week of Learning, Leadership, and Trusting God’s Plan
...⋆✧⋆Welcome to My Online Diary⋆✧⋆...
Hi everyone! I'm Archie Salut, a 17-year-old Grade 12 student in the Excellence section. Welcome to my online diary! This year is starting with a mix of emotions, from feeling sad about failures and problems to being excited about new opportunities. Here, I'll share memorable moments with friends, the challenges I face, and the pr
ide in small victories. This blog is about my journey of ups and downs, laughter and tears, and everything that makes this year unforgettable. Welcome to my online diary!
This week has been a rollercoaster of emotions, packed with back-to-back reporting and looming deadlines. The pressure was definitely on, HUHUHUHU. Our first big task was the Creative Writing report, and honestly, I was really excited about it. We put in a lot of effort to make our presentation both creative and engaging. We incorporated fun activities and visuals, hoping to keep our classmates interested while also explaining the key concepts. Seeing their reactions and hearing their feedback made it all worth it. I think our adviser was impressed too, which was a huge relief. It feels amazing to know that we managed to teach them something new while also making the experience enjoyable.
Philosophy, on the other hand, was a bit of a struggle this week. We discussed video lessons 6-10, which covered some pretty complex topics. After all the preparation we put into the class, it was frustrating to find out we only got an 89 on our performance. HUHUHUHU. It was a bit disappointing, especially considering how hard we worked, but I’m trying not to dwell on it. I keep reminding myself that God has a better plan for us, and maybe this small setback is just part of the bigger picture. I believe this experience will help us grow and improve for the next task. We’ll take this as a lesson and come back stronger.
In Personal Development, we focused on leadership this week, and I really enjoyed the topic. It felt fulfilling to share insights and examples that my classmates could relate to. We discussed different leadership styles and how they play a role in various situations. What made it even more meaningful was that my classmates actively participated and shared their own thoughts and experiences. It made the whole discussion feel more connected and personal. I think leadership is a topic that everyone can relate to, especially as we prepare for the next steps in our lives—whether it’s college or other ventures. Seeing everyone so engaged was a rewarding moment for me.
One of the most fun yet challenging tasks this week came from Applied Economics. Our teacher gave us an interesting assignment—we had to come up with our own product and do a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis on it. After brainstorming, we decided to create a product called "Manga ni Salut." The name is a playful twist, using my last name, which got a lot of laughs from the group. It was a fun and creative exercise, but also a great learning experience. We had to consider things like how our product would stand out in the market, what challenges we’d face, and how we could improve it. Working through the SWOT analysis helped us think more critically about real-world business situations, which was really eye-opening. Who knows, maybe "Manga ni Salut" could be a real thing someday!
Lastly, a major focus for me this week has been preparing for my college entrance exam at the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP). The exam is on October 26, 2024, and as the date gets closer, I can feel the nerves building up. I’ve been reviewing as much as I can, but there’s still that anxiety about whether I’ll be able to perform well on the day. This exam is a big deal for me—it’s a step toward my future, and I’m really praying that I pass. I’ve been balancing my schoolwork and study sessions for the entrance exam, which is no easy feat, but I know that with determination and faith, I can make it. I just have to stay focused and give it my best shot. Please wish me luck!
Bible Verse for the Week:
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." – Isaiah 40:31
This verse has been my source of strength throughout the week. With so many challenges and setbacks, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but this verse reminds me that when we put our faith in God, we’ll find the strength to keep going. Whether it’s staying up late to finish a project, dealing with disappointment, or preparing for something as big as my upcoming college entrance exam, I know that trusting in God’s plan will help me stay strong and keep moving forward. Even when things get tough, I believe that with faith, we can overcome any obstacle.
