..🟄⚝⍣My Third Week as a Senior Student⍣⚝🟄...

Week 3 of senior year just flew by, like a leaf carried by the wind, and things are finally starting to feel more settled. The initial excitement of the first two weeks has faded, like the last embers of a once-blazing fire, but I’m finding my rhythm. It’s like the gears in a well-oiled machine are finally turning smoothly, and I’m getting into the groove of balancing schoolwork, responsibilities at home, and time with family and friends.

My mornings have become routine now. I wake up at 6:30 AM, like clockwork, to help out with household chores. This has become a regular part of my day, and I actually enjoy it. It feels good to know that I’m lightening the load for my parents, even if it’s just a little bit, like adding a drop of oil to ease the grind of daily life. Afterward, I spend some time planning out my day. With my candidacy as treasurer in the GAS organization, I’m thinking about the platforms that will appeal to the students. I’m also practicing my presentation for Wednesday. I promised myself I could balance both sides—schoolwork and the candidacy. So, I also focus on what assignments need to be done, what I need to study, and other tasks on my plate. Having a clear plan helps me stay on top of things and keeps the stress at bay.

This week, our teachers continued to challenge us with various tasks and activities. In Practical Research 2, our teacher gave us a huge task to find 50 literature articles and research studies related to the elective we chose. Since we selected HUMSS, we needed to gather 50 studies and literature connected to it. On top of that, our teacher in Personal Development assigned us a big project. We had to create a short film showing the physiological, psychological, cognitive, social, and spiritual aspects of a person, with each group focusing on one aspect. The deadline was Friday, so we had to work fast, like sprinters racing against time.

After school, I talked to my groupmates in Practical Research 2, stressing the importance of completing the 50 literature articles quickly since we had only a day and a half before the submission. I assigned each member a portion to focus on, whether local or foreign literature, and reminded them to submit it on time. We worked together, checking if the articles aligned with our topic, and thankfully, we successfully finished the task, like pieces of a puzzle fitting perfectly into place.

In Personal Development, we planned our short film immediately that night. With limited time, we knew we had to put in our best effort since it was a performance task that accounted for 50% of our grade. We borrowed a camera from a friend, created a detailed plan, and wrote a script to guide us during filming. When it came time to film, everything flowed smoothly, but the real challenge was editing. I stayed up until 12 AM to rest, but when I woke up at 7 AM, one of my groupmates asked for help with editing because they had a meeting. I rushed to a computer shop and spent five hours editing, but unfortunately, we encountered a problem with exporting the video due to using a PRO version of the software. I felt devastated and even cried, thinking all our hard work had been for nothing. But, my groupmate found a solution, and we managed to submit it on time. I was so relieved and thankful that I went to church to give thanks for the guidance and support I received during this stressful week.

One of the highlights of the week was running for treasurer in the GAS organization. I practiced non-stop to perfect my presentation and thought deeply about the problems in the school that I wanted to address. On the day of the election, I was a bundle of nerves. My mind was filled with "what ifs"—What if I fail? What if I can’t deliver my presentation smoothly? What if people don’t support my ideas? But I reminded myself that God has a plan for me, win or lose. The election started, and my classmates from our section presented their plans, but unfortunately, they lost. My hope started to fade, but I pushed forward and gave my best during my presentation. When the voting results came in, to my surprise, I won! I was in shock, overjoyed, and filled with gratitude. I promised myself that I would do everything I could to serve the GAS strand well. A lot of my friends, family, and even my teachers congratulated me on my success. I know that God was with me every step of the way, like a guiding light in the darkness. I'm proud to say, "I’m Archie C. Salut, your treasurer who guarantees assurance, your ‘TREASURANCE.’"

This week taught me the importance of perseverance and faith. Whether it was balancing my responsibilities, handling the stress of tight deadlines, or overcoming challenges during the election, I realized that determination and a positive mindset are key. Even when things seemed impossible, like when our video wouldn’t export, or when I doubted my chances in the election, I pushed through with the belief that things would work out. Trusting in God's plan and staying committed to my goals allowed me to navigate the hurdles, ultimately leading to success. This week reminded me that no matter how difficult the path may seem, perseverance, teamwork, and faith can guide us through any challenge.

Bible Verse for the Week

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

This verse reminds us to trust God’s plan, even when we face challenges or uncertainties. No matter how difficult things may seem, we can find peace knowing that He is guiding us in the right direction.
