WEEK 10: When rest is a Myth
...⋆✧⋆Welcome to My Online Diary⋆✧⋆...
Hi everyone! I'm Archie Salut, a 17-year-old Grade 12 student in the Excellence section. Welcome to my online diary! This year is starting with a mix of emotions, from feeling sad about failures and problems to being excited about new opportunities. Here, I'll share memorable moments with friends, the challenges I face, and the pride in small victories. This blog is about my journey of ups and downs, laughter and tears, and everything that makes this year unforgettable. Welcome to my online diary!
Our HUMSS elective subject became one of the most frustrating parts of the week. We were supposed to take our summative and periodic exams, but they kept getting delayed. The periodic test, scheduled for September 25, still hasn’t been taken, and it’s driving all of us crazy. It’s not just the delay that’s stressful, but the fact that we’ve been studying for it for so long, staying up late night after night, only for it to keep getting postponed. The long hours of study, sleepless nights, and anxiety about the exam were exhausting, and it felt like no matter how much I prepared, there was no end in sight. It’s tough to stay motivated when it feels like you’re constantly preparing for something that never happens. Hayst, the frustration is real. But in the back of my mind, I keep reminding myself that maybe this delay is part of a bigger plan. God always has a way of turning challenges into something positive, so I’m trying to keep that faith and trust the process, even when it’s hard.
Despite the stress, this week wasn’t without its highlights. One of the most exciting moments was our hip-hop dance performance. We had been preparing for weeks, spending hours rehearsing and perfecting every move. There were times when the practices were tough—our bodies were sore, and we were all tired, but we pushed through. The pressure was on, but the moment we stepped onto the stage, everything came together. The energy in the room was electric, and as the music started, we gave it our all. To hear the cheers from our classmates and even from students we didn’t know, was an incredible feeling. And when the performance ended, we were rewarded with a 100% perfect grade! 🎉 It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off our shoulders, and I was so proud of what we had accomplished as a team. The compliments from teachers and students poured in, and it made all the hard work, stress, and sleepless nights worth it. That moment of success reminded me that sometimes, pushing through the tough times leads to unforgettable rewards.
But the week wasn’t just about exams and dance performances. Friday brought one of the most heartwarming experiences of my senior high school life—Teachers’ Day. My classmates and I wanted to do something special to show our appreciation for our teachers, so we came up with a plan to surprise them. We all pitched in to buy a pizza, a cake, and even designed a huge tarpapel with a personalized message for our teacher. The excitement we felt as we prepared everything was contagious—we couldn’t wait to see her reaction. When the moment finally came, and we revealed our surprise, the look on our teacher’s face was priceless. She was so happy, and it was clear that our gesture really meant a lot to her. Moments like this make all the stress of school fade away, reminding me of how important it is to appreciate the people who support us through thick and thin. Celebrating Teachers' Day with my classmates is one of those memories that I’ll carry with me long after I graduate.
Even though this week was packed with stressful moments, delays, and late nights, it also taught me some valuable lessons. I realized that even when things don’t go according to plan, like the delayed exams, it’s important to stay patient and trust that everything will work out in the end. The dance performance showed me that hard work and determination pay off, and the happiness we brought to our teacher on Teachers’ Day reminded me of the importance of gratitude. It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of school, but taking the time to reflect on the good moments, even the small victories, makes the journey worth it.
Week 10 comes to a close, I’m feeling both tired and accomplished. The stress is still there, and the workload isn’t getting any lighter, but I’m learning how to handle it better each week. I know there will be more challenges ahead, but I’m ready to face them. After all, every struggle, every sleepless night, and every tough moment is a stepping stone to something greater. I just have to keep moving forward, trusting that all of this is preparing me for the future I’m working so hard to build. On to Week 11! 👊
