✰☪ The Storm of Deadlines and New Lessons ☪✰

..🟄⚝⍣My Seventh Week as a Senior Student⍣⚝🟄...

As Week 7 kicked off, I quickly found myself buried under an avalanche of tasks. It seemed like every subject had something for us—quizzes, recitations, summative tests, and projects. The energy from the start of the school year had faded, replaced by the growing weight of deadlines and responsibilities. This week felt like a marathon with no finish line in sight, a race against time as I tried to complete everything while balancing my duties as the GAS Treasurer. With so much on my plate, I found myself questioning how I’d get through it all, but like any challenge, it pushed me to grow stronger and more resilient.

Each day started with the familiar chime of my alarm clock, jolting me awake to face another hectic day. By 6:00 AM, I was already out of bed, feeling the cool breeze of the morning air as I hurried through my morning chores. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen, offering a moment of calm before the storm of schoolwork hit. After tidying up the house, I opened my planner, which was quickly filling up with a long list of tasks. The pressure to stay on top of everything was intense—quizzes in Creative Writing, Philosophy, and Economics, not to mention the upcoming project deadline for our Philosophy film. It felt like I was juggling too many balls at once, each one representing a subject that demanded my focus and attention.

The first challenge of the week came from our Creative Writing class, where we were bombarded with quizzes and a recitation that was presented by each group. Summative tests followed closely behind, and I found myself up late at night, flipping through notes and practice questions, trying to absorb as much as I could before the afternoon exams. Our Philosophy class was no easier. Between discussions on existentialism and the nature of being, we had a film project that required us to interpret philosophical concepts creatively. Time was slipping away, and with so many overlapping tasks, it felt impossible to focus on just one thing.

Applied Economics was another mountain to climb. The quiz was filled with both theoretical and practical questions, pushing us to apply what we had learned about supply and demand in real-world scenarios. I could feel my energy draining as the week progressed, but there was no time to rest. My elective subject piled on even more work, and before I knew it, the days blurred together into a cycle of study, test, project, and repeat.

Despite the overwhelming pressure, there were moments of small victories that gave me the strength to keep going. In our summative test for Philosophy, the concepts I had crammed into my brain the night before seemed to click at just the right time, and I managed to pass with flying colors. The sense of accomplishment was brief, though, as I knew there was more waiting for me right after. Every task I completed felt like one step forward, but the list of things left to do never seemed to shrink.

One of the biggest challenges was finding time for our Philosophy film project. My group and I spent hours brainstorming, scripting, and finally filming scenes that would reflect the philosophical themes we had been discussing in class. Time was not on our side, and coordinating our schedules between schoolwork and extracurricular activities felt impossible. There were moments where frustration almost got the best of us—whether it was technical issues with the camera or disagreements over how to interpret a scene—but we pulled through. Late nights turned into early mornings as we raced to edit the final product, but by the end of it, we had created something we were truly proud of.

This week taught me a lot about time management, resilience, and the importance of teamwork. Balancing multiple tasks from different subjects while fulfilling my responsibilities as the GAS Treasurer was no easy feat, but I learned that staying organized and maintaining a positive mindset is key. Even though there were moments where I felt completely overwhelmed, I reminded myself that every task completed was a step closer to success.

Outside of the academic chaos, I still found time to share moments with my friends, which was a breath of fresh air amidst the stress. We didn’t have much time to relax, but when we did, we made sure to enjoy it. Sharing a simple meal together, laughing at inside jokes, and even venting about how stressful the week had been helped me recharge and reminded me why it’s important to find balance. These moments with friends are like little pockets of sunshine, brightening up the long, tiring days.

As the week came to a close, I looked back at everything I had managed to accomplish and realized just how much I had grown. Week 7 may have been full of tests, quizzes, and a lack of time, but it also showed me that I’m capable of handling more than I thought. It was a week of learning, not just academically, but about myself and the importance of perseverance. While the road ahead is still filled with challenges, I’m ready to tackle them head-on, knowing that each step, no matter how difficult, brings me closer to my goals.

Bible Verse for the Week

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." – Proverbs 16:3

This verse reminds us to trust God with our goals, plans, and responsibilities. As I juggled my schoolwork, duties as GAS Treasurer, and personal life, this verse resonated deeply. It taught me that no matter how overwhelming things get, if I put my faith in God and dedicate my work to Him, He will guide me and help me succeed. By relying on His strength, I can find peace and confidence in the midst of busy schedules, knowing that He is helping to shape my path for the future.
