WEEK 6: Juggling Responsibilities and Cherishing Moment
...⋆✧⋆Welcome to My Online Diary⋆✧⋆...
Hi everyone! I'm Archie Salut, a 17-year-old Grade 12 student in the Excellence section. Welcome to my online diary! This year is starting with a mix of emotions, from feeling sad about failures and problems to being excited about new opportunities. Here, I'll share memorable moments with friends, the challenges I face, and the pride in small victories. This blog is about my journey of ups and downs, laughter and tears, and everything that makes this year unforgettable. Welcome to my online diary!
Each day began with the familiar sound of my alarm clock, pulling me from the comfort of sleep and into the day's demanding schedule. At 6:30 AM, I would drag myself out of bed, the cool tiles against my feet waking me up fully, and start my day with simple household chores. The rich, comforting scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as I swept the floors and tidied up the house. These small tasks were my way of easing into the day, like a warm-up before a marathon. Once the chores were out of the way, I opened my planner and began organizing the day's tasks. It felt like putting together a puzzle—each piece representing a responsibility that needed to be carefully placed. From academic deadlines to managing events for GAS, everything demanded my attention. While stressful, I reminded myself that every challenge was an opportunity to grow and learn.
The biggest hurdle this week was the barrage of quizzes in multiple subjects. It felt like every subject was testing us! There was studying here, reviewing there—I was barely getting enough sleep, but I was determined to pass them all. Thankfully, my efforts paid off. In Creative Writing, we had a summative test with 60 items, and even though I was supposed to be exempted because of my involvement in Brigada Eskwela, I chose to take it to challenge myself. HAHAHA! To my surprise, I aced the exam—I got a perfect score! In Applied Economics, we had a 30-item test, with 10 multiple-choice questions and 20 solving problems. I scored 27/30, which felt amazing. Then came the quiz in Personal Development, which was all identification. Thanks to my advanced studying, I confidently answered all 25 questions. Finally, in P.E., we had a 10-item quiz, and I scored 9/10. This week was a success academically, and I couldn’t be happier knowing I passed all the quizzes.
A major highlight of the week was trying pares for the first time with my friends. Pares is a Filipino dish, a flavorful combination of tender beef stewed in a savory soy sauce and anise-based broth, served with garlic fried rice and a piping hot bowl of broth on the side. The beef was tender and rich, melting in my mouth with each bite, while the garlic rice complemented the dish perfectly, adding a crunchy contrast to the softness of the meat. It was a hearty meal that filled me with warmth and comfort. Sharing this experience with my friends made it even more special. As we sat there, laughing and enjoying our meal, I realized that moments like these are precious. With graduation approaching and everyone heading off to different colleges next year, I want to make the most of this time and create as many good memories with my friends as possible.
To wrap up the week, we held a meeting to discuss the action plan for our GAS organization. We brainstormed ideas for activities and events, and I was thrilled when all of my suggestions were accepted by the group. It was a proud moment for me, knowing that I could contribute meaningfully to our organization. As the newly elected Treasurer, I also attended the turnover of the remaining funds from the previous GAS officers. It was a significant moment, marking the beginning of my official duties. I felt a sense of responsibility as I prepared to manage the funds and ensure that every cent is accounted for. I’m ready to take on this role and serve our school to the best of my abilities.
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." – Proverbs 16:3
This verse reminds us to trust God with our goals, plans, and responsibilities. As I juggled my schoolwork, duties as GAS Treasurer, and personal life, this verse resonated deeply. It taught me that no matter how overwhelming things get, if I put my faith in God and dedicate my work to Him, He will guide me and help me succeed. By relying on His strength, I can find peace and confidence in the midst of busy schedules, knowing that He is helping to shape my path for the future.
